| Joan graduated from nursing school in 1987 and
was credentialed, in Wisconsin, as a Registered Nurse. After extensive
experience in
hospitals, nursing homes and clinics, she sensed that she was nursing
only parts of a person, dealing with the symptoms of disease rather than the
disease itself. She became interested in various forms of integrated healing
to augment patient care. She
explored the many options related to health care and became a member of
the American Holistic Nurses' Association.
She returned to school and earned a
Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. She studied and received certification
at The Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Guangzhou,
Guangdong Province, China in November 2002.
Joan is licensed in both
Maryland and Wisconsin to practice Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.
